ABOUT

My name is AJ Valerio (she/her), owner and sole practitioner at Valerio Pelvic Health in St. Louis, Missouri. I'm a pelvic floor occupational therapist, which means that my approach to your care is:

  • functional--so that progress in therapy translates to meaningful improvements in your daily life

  • holistic, taking into account a person's physical, mental, and emotional needs

  • client-centered--you are the authority on your body and your life and a vital member of your own healthcare team

  • collaborative, empowering, and trauma-informed

  • evidence-based--I strive to use assessment and treatment approaches that are backed by research supporting their efficacy

I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 2020 with an Occupational Therapy Doctorate and have continued to build on that foundation with advanced clinical training in pelvic health and prenatal/postpartum care, including but not limited to:

  • Pelvic Rehab Manual Assessment and Treatment Techniques (Laura Rowan, Essential Pelvic Health)

  • Colorectal Manual Assessment and Treatment Techniques (Laura Rowan, Essential Pelvic Health)

  • Body Ready Method   - Certified 2022

  • Pelvic and Orthopedic Considerations for the Transgender Client (Herman and Wallace)

Valerio Pelvic Health is the proud recipient of a 2021 BALSA Foundation small business grant. I am forever grateful for the BALSA Foundation's support of the Valerio Pelvic Health mission to provide equitable pelvic health and related services to adults across the gender spectrum in the St. Louis area.
